Disgruntled man hurls objects at Rambam Hospital personnel; youths attack police and security guards.

A 60-year-old man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of assaulting doctors in the emergency room at Haifa's Rambam Hospital after he became displeased with the treatment his wife was receiving at the hands of the medical personnel, police said.
Two youths who were on the premises allegedly attacked police who tried to subdue the man.
The suspect reportedly arrived with his wife in the emergency room and, despite a backlog of patients awaiting treatment, demanded that his wife be attended to immediately. When hospital personnel refused to comply, he began behaving violently, hurling objects - including medical files, test tubes and a cellular phone - every which way.
A policeman who entered the emergency room in an attempt to subdue the attacker was promptly assaulted by two youths. Hospital security and a number of additional police then arrived on the scene and assisted the policeman. The youths were related to another patient at the hospital, Army Radio reported.
The man who allegedly instigated the disturbance was arrested, as was an 18-year-old resident of Kiryat Motzkin, who is suspected of attacking police and security personnel. A third suspect fled the scene.
One of the suspects bit a police officer upon his arrest, police said.
According to Benny Keller, Rambam's security officer, such incidents were part of the hospital's routine. "These occurrences are not rare; they happen once in a while," he told Army Radio. "Mostly, we're talking about verbal abuse but sometimes there is also physical abuse."
The violent behavior of patients' families could sometimes be predicted, he said, but claimed that the suspects in Thursday's attack had not aroused the security personnel's suspicion.
