The annual Jerusalem wine-tasting festival is set to begin tonight in the famed Sculpture Garden of the Israel Museum. The festival will host the biggest and brightest names in the industry as this week-long event will be sure to draw large crowds of both tourists and locals alike.This festival is a unique opportunity for wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts to try all sorts of up and coming wines, along with their long-time favorites.For NIS 85, each participant will be given a complementary wineglass and access to unlimited wine tasting.In addition to well-known household names like Tishbi and Binyamina Wineries, the event gives small boutique wineries a platform to expose their often excellent quality wines. Kosher and non-kosher wines from throughout the country will be available to sample and also to buy at discounted prices. The event will also offer kosher food, including sushi, fish and chips, cheese and focaccia.There will also be live music performances throughout the night, providing for a relaxed atmosphere.Culture-seekers can rejoice in the fact that on Tuesday, museum exhibits will remain open throughout the night (and are included in the price of the festival ticket). If you haven’t yet seen them, take the opportunity to view the Neolithic collection of masks, and the “Dress Codes: Revealing the Jewish Wardrobe” exhibition, as well as old favorites. The new “Big Bambu” climbing installation will be open from 7-8:30 p.m., for an additional NIS 10.Doors open at 7 p.m.until close at 11 p.m., every night this week through September 4.
