Six men aged 20 to 30 from from Nazareth and Bosemet Tivon were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of opening fire on police officers last November.
The officers were deployed to Nazareth’s Faruha neighborhood to prevent a dispute between local clans from escalating into an all-out war.
No officers were injured during the shooting.
The men’s custody was extended by eight days at the Nazareth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, in Umm el-Fahm, police continued with efforts to confiscate
illegal arms within the Arab community and seized an improvised
explosive device hidden in a home during a raid.
Stun grenades and additional weapons were also seized.
The home owner, 47, and his two sons, aged 17 and 15, were detained for questioning.
