She was trapped in the house with her two children, 12- and 5-years-old. By the time rescue teams arrived the house was ablaze.
Firefighters managed to rescue the mother and her 12-year-old son. The mother was reportedly unable to direct firefighters to her second son. Firefighters conducted a thorough scan of the house, finding the child dead in the house's basement safe-room.
Rescue team personnel confirmed the boy's death on site. One police officer was also injured lightly from smoke inhalation and was taken to the nearby hospital for treatment.
