Beersheba court indicts abducted engineer Abu Sisi

Palestinian suspect has denied any claims of terrorist involvment, has been in custody in Israel for more than 40 days, after disappearing from a train in the Ukraine.

Dirar Abu Sisi was indicted Monday by the Beersheba District Court, but charges against him are still confidential.
Abu Sisi, has been in custody in Israel for more than 40 days, after disappearing from a train in the Ukraine.

Abu Sisi's family has denied that he was a Hamas operative. He has also denied any claims of terrorist involvement, saying last week that "I am a simple man, an engineer. I am innocent."
Last week, Defense Minister Ehud Barak defended the decision to capture Abu Sisi in Ukraine, and bring him to Israel.
“His presence here is legitimate,” Barak said. “It is not as if someone wakes up in the middle of the night and decides that he doesn’t like the fact that Palestinians are traveling around the world.”
