Over 11,000 people have already registered to take part in the various races of the Tel Aviv Marathon to be held on Friday, April 8, Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai (inset) announced in a press conference on Wednesday.
The organizers are expecting around 15,000 people to ultimately participate in the seven different events, with 1,200 to compete in the full marathon which will get under way at 6:30 a.m. at the Charles Clore Park.
"Tel Aviv has long become a world city alongside the likes of New York, Paris and London and proof to that is the running of the Tel Aviv marathon for a third straight year," Huldai said.
