Report: Ivanka Trump is on list of candidates to head World Bank

The name of US President Donald Trump’s daughter and top advisor Ivanka Trump is reportedly on a list sent to the Treasury Department as a potential candidate to head the World Bank.Jim Yong Kim, the current World Bank president, announced he is leaving his position at the end of January, according to the Financial Times.The list of potential candidates also includes Mark Green, head of the US Agency for International Development, Nikki Haley, former UN ambassador, and David Malpass, a current Treasury official, according to the Times.Ivanka began working in business in 2005 after she graduated from college and started working for her father at the Trump Organization. She launched her own jewelry collection and fashion and lifestyle brand, The Ivanka Trump Collection, in 2007.In 2009, she published The Trump Card, an inspirational business book about her business experience, and it became a New York Times bestseller.The World Economic Forum named Ivanka a Young Global Leader, and in 2014, she was 33rd on Fortune magazine's '40 Under 40' list.Following Trump's election to the White House, Ivanka moved with her family from New York to Washington D.C. to serve as Trump's top aide, leaving behind her business ventures in the hands of others.Her father's unpopular views led to declining sales for her fashion company and many leading stores such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus discontinued her fashion line in 2017. In July 2018, Ivanka announced she was closing down her fashion line.
