The 24th Haifa International Film Festival, which will take place this year at the Haifa Cinematheque from October 14- 21, will open with Woody Allen's latest film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The film, which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, is a comedy- drama about two young American women who visit Spain ( Scarlett Johansson, Woody Allen's muse in recent years, and British actress Rebecca Hall) and get entangled with an artist ( Javier Bardem, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of a hitman in No Country for Old Men) and his ex- wife ( Penelope Cruz).
The movie has received excellent reviews and will be an enjoyable way to kick off the festival, which will feature more than 170 movies from 40 countries.
