This fall will mark the 10th anniversary of the Israeli Opera's program for children when the season opens on September 8 with The Magic Flute. Since the program's inception, over 100,000 kids have attended performances by the Children's Opera Hour. This year, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's 1882 opera The Snow Maiden will be added to the repertoire. Other productions include Hansel and Gretel, The Marriage of Figaro and Rossini's Cinderella. The performances, intended for kids aged three to eight, are held in the foyer of the Opera House, with the kids on carpets and the adults on chairs. More information: www.israel-opera.co.il.
