Contests featuring Abdul El-Sayed and Cori Bush will test whether criticism of Israel has become a broader force among Democratic voters.

Senior US officials said: "One of the important things for Israel is that it will not withdraw as long as there is a Hamas threat; Israel's withdrawal will occur according to a [later] schedule."

Senior White House and Board of Peace officials praised a Gaza framework deal in which Hamas accepted its complete disarmament, while Israel has nothing to do beyond waiting for its implementation.
