Tel Aviv One: Tagging Along

A JPost reporter joins Pittsburgh's delegation to UJC's Tel Aviv One conference on a visit to Yad Vashem.

The Valley of the Communities On Sunday I joined the Pittsburgh group for a tour of Yad Vashem. When we arrived at the Valley of the Communities, everyone was given a map of the area, a white carnation, and a spool of ribbon. We were instructed to take the map and find a place that was meaningful to us, and to leave the carnation there. Then we were to put one end of the ribbon there, and roll the rest of it back to the center. The effect was a colorful web of some 80 ribbons. The day had started out sunny, but then the sky became overcast. It was cool and breezy.
