A 16-year-old youth caught on video throwing a stone at a cat and laughing as he watched it squirm in pain and die has been indicted on cruelty to animals charges.
The youth, who cannot be named since he is a minor, was filmed killing the cat three months ago at a Petah Tikva school. He was arrested on Monday a few hours after the Let the Animals Live animal rights group handed over disturbing footage of the incident to police.
Police are seeking to remand the youth in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
