24 suspects to be indicted in racketeering ring crackdown

Twenty-four indictments were scheduled to be handed out in Tel Aviv District Court on Thursday following the police crackdown on a large and violent racketeering ring which was announced on Wednesday.

The suspects came from two alleged crime organizations that joined forces – one from Jaffa, headed by alleged underworld boss Izat Hamad, and the second from Or Yehuda, allegedly headed by imprisoned underworld figure David Ezra, police said.
