The Committee for senior public appointments, headed by retired judge
Yaakov Tirkel, has approved the appointment of Cmdr. Yochanan Danino
to the position of police chief.

In a statement, the committee said it found "no reason to prevent the
appointment."

The committee's findings will appear before the cabinet for approval on Sunday.
