Ariel Sharon commemorated in postal stamp set

A year after his death, former prime minister Ariel Sharon will be memorialized in a Israel Philatelic Services postal stamp. The NIS 2.10 stamp shows his portrait based on a photograph taken by Government Press Office photographer Ya’acov Sa’ar. The stamp was designed by Zvika Roitman.

The commemorative sheet of nine stamps is accompanied by a DVD film telling of Sharon’s life and narrated  by actor Haim Topol; a booklet with a selection of his speeches and writings and rare photos from the family album. The set is for sale at NIS 44 at all Israel Postal Company branches and at
