Australia strikes first Islamic State target in Iraq

Australian fighter jets targeted Islamic State positions in Iraq for the first time, overnight on Wednesday.

The Australian Defense Force said its aircraft, returned to base safely after "two bombs were dropped from an F/A-18F Super Hornet" on an Islamic State facility. No further details were disclosed about the military operation.
