Defense Minister Ehud Barak praised US Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano Monday for America's effective fight against terrorism.

Ahead of a meeting between the two, Barak said, "we live with this threat throughout our lives; during the last decade it struck America as well, and you are fighting it effectively."

Barak added that Israel and the United States "share a common interest in making sure that we are protecting our society on the home front as successfully as we can against the growing threat of international terror."
