Ben-Eliezer regains consciousness

After spending most of last week sedated and on a respirator, Labor powerhouse MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer was disconnected from breathing assistance and returned to consciousness on Saturday.
Ben-Eliezer, 75, was hospitalized last week for an acute respiratory infection. The veteran parliamentarian remains in Assaf HaRofeh Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, where he has been hospitalized since last Tuesday. 
According to Army Radio, hospital director Dr. Benny Davidson said that “it is impossible to say that he is getting healthier, but his life is not in immediate danger.”
