Burglars steal ancient relics from Ashdod museum

Unknown assailants stole dozens of relics from an exhibit in the Ashdod museum Tuesday night, including artifacts dating to the time of Alexander the Great.
The relics include a number of silver coins from the Hellenistic period, two gold earrings, a bronze spear, and several pieces of pottery.
Amir Ganor, head of the Israel Antiquities Authority's anti-theft division, vowed to find the assailants through probing the antiquities market. Police have opened an investigation into the theft.
