CIA official: Syria poses greatest threat to US security

The volatile situation in Syria and the risk of al-Qaida flourishing if the current Syrian government falls poses the greatest national security threat to the US,  the CIA's second-in-command said in an interview published by the Wall Street Journal Tuesday.
According to Michael Morell, if the Damascus government collapses, the country could become a haven for al-Qaida and the chemical and advanced weapons that the regime possesses could fall into its hands.
