Cabinet approves Sheshinski proposals

The cabinet on Sunday approved the Sheshinski Committee's final recommendations on raising the government's take on gas and oil discoveries. The government's take will rise from 33% to 52-62%. Last week, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided to adopt the Sheshinski Committee recommendations.

Over the past few days, private investors in the energy exploration companies have waged an aggressive campaign against the Sheshinski Committee recommendations by bombarding Netanyahu with emails expressing their opposition to the Sheshinski proposals.
