Egypt cancels decision to shorten curfew hours

CAIRO - Egypt cancelled a decision to shorten the hours of a curfew imposed on Cairo and 13 other cities following political violence in which more than 500 people were killed.

The curfew will start as previously announced on Wednesday at 7 p.m. (1700 GMT), not 9 p.m., but will still last until 6 a.m., a cabinet statement said on Thursday.
