FM: Qatar aid to Hamas will be used to fund terrorism

The money Qatar transferred to Hamas for aid in the Gaza Strip will not be used for rehabilitation or for housing, but rather to fund terrorist activities, said Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman on Wednesday to Israel Radio.

Liberman harshly criticized the Qatari emir's decision to visit Gaza, saying the Qataris exaggerate their own self importance.

The foreign minister also maintained that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is not interested in reaching a peace agreement with Jerusalem, but rather to escalate the confrontation with Israel.
