A senior Fatah official said Sunday that the right-wing of Israel will not pull the Palestinians into a third intifada.

Jibril Rajoub emphasized in interview on Israel Radio that the Palestinians will not initiate a third intifada, but that extreme elements on both sides will dictate reality.

MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer of the Labor Party commented that the area is facing the beginnings of a third intifada, expressing his belief that a bloody uprising is on the horizon. He called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to begin diplomatic negotiations.
