A vehicle exploded in the Palestinian territory of Gaza on Friday and medical sources said at least two people died in the blast.

"The car was bombed," one source said, indicating they thought the Israelis had targeted the vehicle. The explosion happened shortly after two mortar shells were fired at Israel from Gaza, causing no damage or injury.

The IDF confirmed that it had carried out an attack.
