Germany 'unreservedly supports' US Mideast peace initiative

Germany "unreservedly supports" the US initiative to revive the peace process, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in a phone conversation on Wednesday, AFP reported.

Westerwelle is set to visit Israel later this week, and meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres on Friday. On Saturday, Westerwelle is due to meet with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in the West Bank.
