The IDF fired on a suspected terrorist after he crossed the border from northern Gaza into Israel on Saturday evening.
The man was spotted carrying out suspicious activity on the ground in an area used to plant bombs in the past, the army said.
Then, "the suspect began crossing the border fence, while carrying a suspicious item," the army added.
IDF soldiers called on him to stop, fired in the air, and when he ignored their instructions, fired at the suspect, the army said.
The IDF is examining the incident to gain further details.
