IDF official: Hamas working to stop rocket fire from Gaza

IDF Gaza Division commander Brig.-Gen. Micky Edelstein said Friday that there was "some degree of dialogue" between Israel and parties in Gaza to prevent rocket fire from the coastal territory into southern Israel.

Speaking at an IDF event in Sderot Edelstein confirmed that Hamas is acting to thwart rocket attacks from Gaza.

"Today Hamas and other actors in Gaza are acting to stop the rocket fire. They don't always succeed, and where they fail, the IDF acts," Channel 10 quoted Edelstein as saying.
