Intel, Education Ministry sign science, technology deal

The Education Ministry has signed an agreement with the global technology corporation Intel to increase the implementation of technology in Israeli classrooms and the teaching of science courses.
The cooperation will be done under the framework of Education Ministry plans to revolutionize Israeli classrooms for the 21st century. The program was announced by Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar at the Herzliya Conference last February, and is set to include widespread improvements in computer infrastructure throughout the school system, including providing students with laptops and developing more and more "smart classrooms" where digital screens and computers will replace blackboards.
