Iran has hanged five people convicted of murder, including a young woman sentenced to death for slaying her newborn son. The state-owned IRAN newspaper on Thursday said all five, identified only by their first names, were hanged on Wednesday in Teheran's Evin prison. The paper's report identifies the 27-year-old woman as Soheila, charged with killing her five-day old son three years ago. According to media reports, there have been more than 110 executions in Iran since January. Iran doesn't publish official statistics on executions.
