Army Radio reporter and Israeli actress Bar Belfer was critically injured in a car accident on the Ayalon Highway on Tuesday.

Belfer, 21, parked her car on the shoulder of the road to check a problem with the vehicle. When she stepped out of the vehicle she was hit by a car that swerved suddenly from its lane.

She was evacuated to Tel-Aviv's Ichilov Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the hitting car, a 77-year-old woman, was in shock. Another driver was lightly injured after braking his car abruptly to avoid crashing into the hitting car.
