Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said Sunday that "today Egyptians are wise people with a brilliant Islamic background. He warned that care should be taken to prevent the enemy from diverting the popular movement [in Egypt] and bring to power an individual affiliated with the Pharaonic Egyptian regime,” according to Press TV.

Khamenei underlined that the world of Islam is presently at a “very sensitive” juncture while speaking at a meeting with a host of Islamic intellectuals and guests attending the 24th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.
