Lieberman: Dialogue with Palestinians must go on

SOFIA, Bulgaria — Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday said that it is important that direct talks between Israel and the Palestinians continue.

Speaking to reporters in Sofia, Bulgaria Avigdor, Lieberman said Israel believes in direct negotiations with the Palestinians without preconditions and middlemen.

Lieberman said there was no reason to extend the 10-month halt on new housing in West Bank settlements since it had not led to positive results.

He added that the European Union could also participate more actively in guaranteeing the security of the borders.
