Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz spoke Wednesday evening about the IDF's activities over the past few months.

"Hamas realizes the mistake it made by kidnapping the boys and firing at the south," Lt. Gen. Gantz said. "We're going to stand strong in front of them during the next few days."

"This might not be the end. We will continue to protect and serve. We will be ready for anything, in every way and at all times," Gantz said.

"We have a strong group that has been standing up to this for two months," he continued. "At first [the mission was to] find the three boys, and the second time was to bring peace and quiet to a great number of homes."
