National Union MK Michael Ben-Ari said on his Facebook page on Sunday that migrants that get near the Israel-Egypt border should be shot in the head.

"That is the only way to protect the lives of our children and guard our borders," Ben-Ari claimed.

Ben-Ari posted the Facebook status following what he claimed was an IDF inquiry that determined the terrorists who attacked IDF soldiers on Friday waited until the soldiers were busy giving aid to migrants before firing. Colonel Guy Biton, commander of the IDF brigade which patrols in the area along the border where the incident happened, later told Army Radio on Sunday “there is no connection between the presence of the infiltrators at the border and the incident with the terrorists."

"If migrants want water, they should drink it in Sudan or Egypt," Ben Ari added.
