A man poured flammable liquid on himself and attempted to set himself
on fire outside of the Beersheba municipality on Monday, copying the
actions of a social justice activist Moshe Silman, who is
in critical condition of setting fire to himself in Tel Aviv Saturday.

The man, 48 who is known to social welfare, was prevented from
lighting himself by police officers who were on the scene.

He is seeking to obtain public housing and has encountered
bureaucratic obstacles.

On Sunday, a man attempted to set himself on fire at a branch of the
Orance cell phone company in Petah Tikva. Security guards at the store
prevented him from harming himself.
