Municipality to fine illegal election billboards

The Jerusalem Municipality announced Monday that it is designating 50 locations throughout the city to lawfully erect mayoral election placards and billboards for the October 22 vote. Locations for all locations will be listed on the municipality’s website at jerusalem.muni.il.
Additionally, all information regarding guidelines for legal compliance of ad placement, fees and penalties are listed on the site. The municipality warned that individuals who illegally erect billboards – or fail to comply with any stated regulations – will be fined NIS 3,600.
The municipality said it intends to “act decisively against violations of the law” during the period leading up to the October election to maintain the cleanliness, safety and general order of the city.
