Police and Israel Land's Authority dismantled Bab al-Shams (‘Gate of Sun”) late Wednesday night – a tent outpost set up by Palestinian activists on an undeveloped area in the Ma’aleh Adumim settlement, known as E1.

The Ma'aleh Adumim police station led the operation at around midnight, and reported that it took an hour to dismantle the tents erected in protest of the government decision to build thousands of Jewish homes in the area near Jerusalem.

No major incidents were reported, police said.
