Report: Israeli, Palestinian police may form joint patrols

Israeli and Palestinian police may form "mutual patrols" in a completely new form of cooperation, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday.
Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino was quoted by the Post at a news conference in Jericho as saying: "There is currently a working group that is looking into coordination [among the Israeli police force, the Palestinian police force and the Israeli army] that could create something totally new — mutual police patrols."
According to the Post, two officers of both police forces, alongside a Jordanian senior officer, have met secretly since 2012 in discussions on coordination on issues such as drug smuggling, human trafficking, juvenile crime, and traffic violations and accidents.
