Masked gunmen ambushed a security outpost near the northern Sinai city of El Arish Monday in the area of Al Riesa, Egyptian daily Al Ahram reported. No one was injured in the attack.

The armed assailants fired on the security forces from an SUV and a motorcycle without license plates.

According to the report, security forces were not able to stop the attackers, who fled the scene.

The incident is the latest attack on security forces in Sinai, an area that where terrorists have bombed a gas pipeline that flows to Israel and Jordan ten times this year.
