Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was set to push back parliamentary elections from January to June, Egypt Independent, citing state-owned Al-Gomhurriya reported Saturday.

The move would contravene Egypt's newly-approved Constitution, according to the report, which specifies that elections for the Egyptian House of Representatives must be conducted within two months of the Constitution being passed.
