Israel has extended the remand for Samir Allawai, Al Jazeera's Afghanistan beurea chief, for an additional seven days, accusing him of being affiliated with Hamas, Al Jazeera reported Tuesday.

Allawi reportedly testified Monday in front of a military court in the West Bank near Jenin.

According to Al Jazeera, Allawi was arrested at the Allenby crossing on the border with Jordan Tuesday after a three-week vacation his hometown Sabastia near Nablus.
