Report: US told Netanyahu about Syria strike delay before announcement to avoid public criticism

The White House informed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of US President Barack Obama's decision to seek the authorization of Congress for a Syria strike prior to the public announcement of the move in order to prevent public Israeli criticism of the move, Channel 2 reported on Sunday.
Channel 2 quoted Israeli cabinet ministers as saying that Obama's response to Syria's use of chemical weapons has strengthened fears in Israel that Obama will not act to prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons capability.
