Route 1 was reopened for traffic on Wednesday morning, after police redirected a motorcyclist's protest convoy to a parking lot at the Latrun interchange. The bikers, protesting the Finance Ministry's decision to raise insurance fees for motorcycles, had caused traffic jams on the highway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Last week, a similar convoy snarled rush-hour traffic on Route 2.
