Schalit's father thanks public, IDF, gov't for support

Gilad Schalit's father Noam Schalit said Tuesday he was thankful for his son's widespread support in the public, the IDF, and the government, and thanked all those who accompanied his family along their five year campaign to release Gilad from captivity in Gaza.

"We, of course, thank the public that supported us all this way and all the activists who were with us this whole time, accompanying us until the very last step," Noam said.

"We want to thank IDF officials, and the government, who helped comnplete this operation."

Schalit said that he appreciated the hard work of "the government, prime minister, and defense minister."
