Security cabinet gets briefing on siren readiness

Deputy Defense Minster Matan Vilna'i briefed the security cabinet Wednesday on home front preparedness, specifically on the state of the country's siren and warning systems. The briefing came a few months after a major drill throughout the country where the sirens were sounded to check whether they were working properly. During the Second Lebanon War a number of deficiencies emerged out in the country's siren and warning system. Vilna'i discussed technological advances made in this area, as well as procurement and deployment issues.
