Israeli security forces have arrested eight Palestinians from the West Bank and east Jerusalem who were planning terrorist attacks against Israelis, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced Thursday.

In a joint operation carried out with the IDF and police between August and October, investigations revealed that the detained suspects had been plotting various attacks against IDF forces using explosives.

The investigation also uncovered the activities of a Palestinian resident of east Jerusalem who sought to transfer two kilograms of gunpowder from the West Bank to Jerusalem to use to manufacture pipe bombs.
