State opposes additional court discussion on Benizri ruling

The state prosecution is opposed to the Supreme Court conducting an additional discussion in the case of former Shas minister Shlomo Benizri, whose jail sentence was increased in June by the court from 18 months to four years on charges of bribery, fraud, breach of faith and obstruction of justice. Benizri claimed that another discussion was due since the court's ruling qualifies as a precedent. The prosecution on Tuesday rejected the former minister's claim.
