Syria: Kerry's comments could cause peace talks to fail

The Syrian government on Sunday condemned remarks made by US Secretary of State John Kerry and said his comments could cause the failure of proposed peace talks on the country's ongoing conflict, AFP reported.
The Syrian foreign ministry said Kerry's repeated statements “threaten to cause the failure of the Geneva conference, are a flagrant violation of Syrian affairs and an aggression against the Syrian people's right to decide their future”.
Despite differing over "tactics" on Syria's civil war, the US and its allies desire the goal of a handover of power by Syrian President Bashar Assad, the report cited Kerry as saying in Cairo on Sunday.
