BANGKOK - Thailand's parliament will be dissolved on Tuesday, May 10, the government spokesman said, paving the way for what is expected to be a close and potentially volatile general election on July 3.

The dissolution bill has been officially endorsed by King Bhumibol Adulyadej, a formality necessary to dissolve the lower house.
